How to Locate Reader Firmware VersionThere are a few simple ways to locate the firmware version. The first way will be referencing the back label of the reader itself. Please see the image below. The “FW:” refers to firmware. The version is listed to the right side of the colon. The second way to locate the firmware version is by downloading and using our pcProx configuration utility. If you do not already have it, you can download it here.

What does the C06 or C16 mean at the end of my model number?All of our desktop USB readers will come with a 6ft USB cable by default. They can be ordered with shorter cables if desired. A standard 6ft cable will be on readers with part numbers such as RDR-6081AKU. There will be no other letters or numbers after the part number. The C06 indicates a 6 inch cable. Example RDR-6081AKU-C06 The C16 would indicate a 16 inch cable. Example RDR-6081AKU-C16

Power Consumption of Plus readersIn general, the Plus reader's Power Consumption will between 70 mA typical, 150 mA maximum. For Ethernet Plus readers, the reader draw is approximately 16mA at 48V which would be less than 1 watt (768 mW).
