Mifare Cards and Readers
We offer several reader models that can read Mifare cards. Before choosing a reader, you’ll need to identify which type of Mifare card you have. Common types include:
- Mifare Classic
- Mifare Ultralight
- Mifare Desfire (EV1, EV2, EV3)
Most readers that support Mifare credentials can read the Card Serial Number (CSN), which is the manufacturer’s embedded identifier. This CSN is a long binary string and is not related to any secured data stored in card sectors.
Reading Secured Card Data
If you need to access secured data written to a specific sector on the card, you’ll need a Mifare Secured Reader, such as the RDR-80M31BKU.
To use this feature, you must have:
- The sector location and key information for your card.
- This information configured in the reader using SmartCard Manager:
