How to configure an AKU reader for use with Konica Minolta and PaperCut

Step 1. Plug your card reader into your PC and open the pcProx Configuration Utility. If you do not have the configuraiton utility, it can be downloaded here.

Step 2. Under the “Connect” tab, select “Use USB Ports” for this type of connection.

Step 3. Click “Connect” icon and the application will connect to the USB card reader.

Step 4. Go to the Format tab, then Extended sub tab. You may need to select the Extended/Hashing radio button. If you click on GetID and present your MIFARE card to the card reader you will get a reading of: 32 bits 4E3ADC1E and also in binary.�

Step 5. Select Configuration #1 and in the drop down choose RDR‐758x Equivalentundefined

Step 6. Select “Data format/Delimiters” Under Data Format select: Only read cards with this bit count and enter “32”

Step 7. Click the Format Tab and select Extended/ Hashing

Step 8. Click on Extended Tab, under Define fields, Setting Up the Prefix (Prestroke)

Select F01 and enable

In the Keystroke field clear all data from the field and type in 20

Under Display mode, select HEX

Digits to display: 2

Under Where, Start bit: 32, number of bits: 0

Step 9. Setting up the CSN

Select F02 and enable

Under Keystrokes, clear all data from the field

Under Display mode, select HEX

Under Where, Start bit: 1, Number of bits: 32

Step 10. Setting Up the Suffix (Poststroke)

Select F03 and enable

Under Keystrokes, clear all data from the field and enter “ffffffffffffffffffffff” (without the quotes), there are 22 f's.

Under Display mode, select HEX

Under Where, Start bit: 32, Number of bits: 0

Step 11. Setting Up the ENTER

Select F04 and enable

Under Keystrokes, clear all data from the field and enter “<ENTER>”. You can just click in the box and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

Step 12. Select Write Active, this will save and use the current configuration.

On the bottom of the screen you will see Writing to device…

Once it is done writing you are all set. You can do test scans into the green box to ensure you are ready to go.
